Previously known as Daisy Therapy
Compassion Focussed Therapy, CBT & ERP for OCD and low self-esteem.
Hello & a very warm welcome.

Are you a little scared of your own mind and what your thoughts mean about you? You might feel shame and guilt about the content of your thoughts. Maybe others get frustrated with your constant reassuring seeking? Do you avoid things so you don't have to do compulsions or feel anxious? Maybe you long to be able to be spontaneous and not care about all this stuff you know, deep down, makes no difference to any outcomes but you can't, at the moment, resist it anyway?

If OCD has left you feeling ashamed, worthless, or constantly doubting yourself then addressing low self-esteem alongside your OCD in therapy can create real sustainable change.

I help adults and teenagers (14+) make sense of their OCD, break free from compulsions and anxiety, and rebuild the confidence OCD has taken from them.

I look forward to talking with you.

Therapy
OCD often begins earlier than people realise, commonly developing from around age 9. Using an evidence based combination of CBT, ERP, and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) we can develop a psychological understanding of OCD to enable you to learn strategies to manage your thoughts and respond to them in more helpful ways. To drop the compulsions, manage anxiety and learn to accept uncertainty that often is part of what drives OCD.
My therapy page might help you think about what this looks like for you. For OCD, go here and for low self-esteem, go here
become a member of my self-esteem hub
A self-esteem library? what is that I hear you say. Just like a library this is a hub to go to, to learn about what self-esteem is, ideas about how to improve yours, articles, podcasts, a chat where you can talk to me and you will get every article straight to your inbox so you never miss anything.
I feel we should be as proactive with minds as our bodies, think of the library as the greens for your mind!
The link below will take you to the Substack app where you can join my self-esteem library, look forward to seeing you there.

Who do you work with?
I work with adults and children from age 14 years and up.
What therapy do you offer?
I am a CBT (cognitive behaviour Therapy) Therapist and you can be reassured that I am BACBP accredited (the gold standard for CBT Therapists in relation to training and regulation of the profession). I am also trained in other therapies that can be really helpful in treating anxiety such as CFT (compassion focussed therapy), mindfulness and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy).
I am not sure about online therapy
Online therapy offers a flexible & confidential space that is from the comfort of your own home or office space. Research shows that video-based therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions for treating anxiety. I have many years experience of working with clients online and know it is just as effective and much more convenient for my clients. Find more information in my FAQ page, here.
What do you work with?
I specialise in working with anxiety disorders, more commonly referred to as 'worry or worrying'. Often, linked to low self-esteem.
I particularly work with OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), GAD (Generalised Anxiety Disorder), stress, imposter syndrome, low self-esteem and perfectionism that cause lots of anxiety. All these things, are often, very closely linked.

I have observed, over the last 20 years of working as a therapist, how OCD and low self-esteem often go hand in hand. If both are a difficulty for you, rest assured we will look at both. Find out more about OCD therapy here
How do I get started with therapy?
The first step is to get in touch (you can use the button below, or click here) as I always speak to prospective new clients on the phone first. I want to make sure I think I can help and it gives you the opportunity to ask me any questions you may have. There is no charge for this initial 20 minute phone call.

These first phone calls work best if you think about (and maybe write down) what the key things you would like help with and any questions that you have. If you are not sure, that is also ok, I can support you to find those answers and make a plan about treatment options.

Let's get started, I am looking forward to talking with you.

You can either email me or use the contact form or the book an appointment button. You can also give me a ring and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
